Job Description

The purpose of this position is to write, record, & mix original songs, using information from customer-submitted stories, lyric descriptions, and/or lyrics, and within the provided genre descriptions, moods, and song lengths. We cover the cost of finding and processing customers, so you can turn your passion into a career, and still work on your own schedule.

 

Responsibilities

  • Write original lyrics based on customer submissions

  • On occasion, adapt customer-submitted lyrics into original music

  • Compose modern-sounding songs based on customer requirements

  • Record original music in a timely manner, using both live and digital instrumentation and your own vocals.

  • Mix original music to conventional standards in a timely manner.

  • Submit songs for review

  • Make revisions where necessary

  • Provide your best tips and tricks to the team!

 

Requirements

  • Strong reading comprehension & attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong familiarity with your chosen DAW

  • Ability to self-record in a home studio or similar

  • Ability to generally sing on-key, and pitch-correct vocals where needed (with use of a Flex-Pitch, Melodyne, or similar)

  • Strong familiarity with either guitar, piano, or digital instrumentation

  • Familiarity with basic music theory

  • Familiarity with conventional songwriting terms (i.e. “verse” “pre-chorus” "stanza" "rhyme" "meter" etc.)

  • Ability to mix a simple song to conventional main-stream standards

  • No ego. This business requires you to be able to handle honest feedback & put customers' preferences above your own.

 

Compensation

Our artists fall under the employment type of Independent Contractor.

  • Payouts vary per-song based on genre, length, and add-ons. A standard, 3-minute song pays $100 USD. An Acoustic 3-minute song (Only Vocals, Guitar/or Piano, and 1 more texturizing layer) pays $70 USD.

  • Artists also have the opportunity to receive tips from each customer.

  • Artists are promoted on our website and various social media platforms.
